It's advertised as full time. Closing date is imminent and I'm umming and ahing because I want part time hours. When would be the best time to mention it? Because recruitment is centralised who would I even call to ask? Many thanks.

My understanding vwas that SCS has different working conditions to everything below. That said, I know a number of SCS with non-standard working patterns - job share/compressed/PT. Not sure if its CS-wide but my department can't not consider someone because of their working pattern bit it always needs to be ok according to business need. We would also have to declare on the application. Is there no named contact on advert? If not, just contact the hr dept and ask.

I'd apply - women tend not to apply even if they fulfill most of the criteria. I have known several senior Civil Servants who have "Job shared", both Men and Women. If you fulfill the criteria you can make your need for flexibility clear (the roles are often filled on a 1 1/2 times basis).
