Well paid flexible job but I hate it!

I've worked hard to get on in my career and have worked part time since having my kids which has been great and because I progressed before hand I'm now paid well but I work all the time even on days off. It is really stressful and I hate it. I am always looking at my emails on my phone and taking phone calls

I also haven't progressed and am now unlikely to because of the part time working and I have to suck that up

I wonder if it would just be easier to go back full time and at least be paid but then I would really never see the kids

Alternative is try and change career direction and get a less stressful role doing part time hours but with much less pay

Anyone else been in this situation?

Unfortunately yes. I took a part time job that was a lot less stressful, less pay and killed my career. I retrained whilst doing that job and am now even more happy as this job is so much better. I was skint for years but got loads of time with the kids.

It's hard isn't it. Good luck, I hope you find some way to resolve your situation.

Hiw old are your kids?

I've gone back full time and don't plan to go part time if i can afford it as it would basically be doing a full time job in part time hours!
