Can't quite work this job ad out, would I stand a chance or not ??

Just got local job paper and seen an ad for an unqualified level 2 TA post in a nursery.

It says unqualified so thats good as I am not, but then it says Experiance of Foundation stage/nursery provision is essential.

So surely then they are saying that they want someone who has worked in a nursery before ?? Thats the only way you'd have knowledge of the info they are asking for isn't it ?

I can research the info they are asking for but thats not really the same is it ? Would I be wasting my time ??

The only childcare experiance I have is as a childminder 5 years ago, so that won't really apply.

They probably want someone who has done voluntary work experience in that kind of an environment.

Nutty, can you phone them up and have a chat?
If it is the sort of job you'd really love, then at least fill in the application form.

NuttyMuffins · 29/06/2007 18:04

Do you think if I write 'be nice and give me a chance please' on the form it will help

Yeah you have to ring for the form so I can do that.

Can't believe I finally found an unqualified post but now have no relevant experiance. Don't suppose there is a quick course I can do is there ??

Do childminders deal with Foundation stage ?? I know a few of them.

Foundation Stage is from aged 3. Apply anyway , what have you got to lose.

NuttyMuffins · 29/06/2007 18:27

Oh i will apply anyway, just wanted to know if I was likely to stand a chance or not.

Will speak to the lady that runs ds's nursery and see if she can loan me some info to read.

Apply, apply! I applied for my current job as a total long-shot but it turned out they had very few applicants and the other interviewee was a 'bit of a weirdo' (my boss rather unprofessionally told me afterwards!). So, they were stuck with me !

The point is you never know...
