Great interview but not sure I can accept the job

So I'm currently part time, 3 days per week, start early and finish early so that I can collect my children from school. I'm absolutely bored to death in my current job and last Friday I interviewed for a job that feels like a fantastic opportunity for a great company.
Problem is the money isn't amazing, I'd certainly be on less per hour than I am now but the main issue is the hours are until 5.30 every day, there doesn't seem to be any flexibility around that. This would mean my children would need afterschool club 5 days per week at a cost of £18 per day and I'd only be seeing them for about 1.5 hours a night. My heart absolutely sinks at the thought of this.

I haven't even been offered the job but I got a great feeling from the interview. I just don't know what to do, my children are still young (5&7) and if I struggled with the hours I think I'd find it impossible to find something as flexible as I have now.

Well, Afterschool costs for 2 kids are quite high so you need to be sure that the extra hours you’re doing is actually worth it and you’re not left out of pocket.

Personally I would suck it up for a short time only if I knew it would be worth it in the long run eg better chance of promotion or better pay etc

Don’t put yirusekf at a disadvantage. The kids will have fun generally at Afterschool, especially in summer when they can play out in the yard. My DS used to love it!
