Are there any home based opportunities out there?

I’m a creative at heart but have turned my back on the industry I worked in due to long hours.

I would love to return to work part time and ideally home based, even if it’s admin/research role. My passion and knowledge is apparel development, independent travel and cooking.

So mums, is there anything out there?

I know I ALWAYS say this on here, but apply for Leapforce and Appen while you're looking for something else and come up with a plan. Can't go into loads of detail due to non disclosure agreements, but it's worth a google. It won't make you mega bucks, but it's well over minimum wage for an hours work a day on most projects.

In terms of setting up on your own, I have no idea how you'd go about it, but have you thought about setting up as a chef who does batch cooking for families? I was thinking yesterday I'd love to pay someone to do it for me, and just have a months worth of dinners for the freezer delivered in one go.

Or even baby food OP! I'd have murdered for someone to make pea purée for me. You could even use those trustable pouches. I don't think you'd need too much to get started with something like that. I'd imagine it could be quite lucrative.

Thank you Otterses, some great ideas there - they really are appreciated!

Not a bother chocolate Smile

I'll try to keep thinking for you. Is it the money side of things motivating you, or more just wanting to do something?

Just wanting to do something that I enjoy! I’d need to cover a minimal amount of childcare costs too. I feel like I’ve racked my brains and covered so many things from craft to cooking etc... I do like the cooking idea but I think I’d need a health and safety certificate to do that. There is something out there, I’m sure!! Smile

There absolutely is something out there Smile ! As I get older the more I realise life is exactly what you make of it.

If the cooking idea really appeals to you, I'd actually really recommend making an appointment at the job centre, a friend of mine is starting a wedding related business, and they've been so helpful. They've helped her write a business plan, apply for local grants, all the groundwork really, (all things I'm sure you could do yourself! But I think sometimes it can help to have a handhold and someone cheering you on).
