I'm sorry, I'm sure this thread has been done to death! My 20s were all over the place and I never got a career off the ground. I did a BA in English, then travelled/ worked as a teaching assistant for about 5 years, then decided I wanted to be a doctor and managed to get a place at medical school. I did half the course then fell pregnant and dropped out - I was awarded a BMedSci for my troubles. I'm now 30, my youngest is only a few months old and I've been a SAHM for 2 years now, but I want to get a proper career off the ground ASAP. I've got the money to retrain if I need to. I want something that lets me spend as much time as possible with the kids whilst still earning a reasonable salary. Does this unicorn career exist?
