Hi, I've got into the police, starting next June. I am one of those people that loves to make long term plans so already I have been looking at the maternity policy for my force. It says Full Maternity Pay is awarded to officers who have 63 weeks continuous service... does anyone know if this counts training period and probationary period please? I don't want to email the admin of my force incase they think I'm going to whizz off and have a baby as soon as I start and judge me for it. I don't have any other children and I am only 23 (and very broody! I am also married and have a house) but I am finding it hard to know whether it would be better to have children first or get established in my career first! I already work full time in a job where I'm already entitled to full maternity pay. Any advice around maternity and motherhood in the police force would be great, thank you.
