Good morning Ladies,

I have a job interview tomorrow at a primary school as a lunchtime supervisor, j have prepared my questions etc and feel fairly confident however, I havea holiday booked meaning I would be off last week before Christmas....would you mention this in the interview?

Yes I would. I interviewed in August and told them I had a holiday end of November and I got the job and they're honouring it

I would have thought they would ask you at the end. Its always one of my final questions. If they don’t ask and then ask you if you have any questions I would mention it personally as it shouldn’t effect your success with the position

Yes but towards the end so it doesn’t look like the thing uppermost in your mind. Also that allows them to see how great you are and more likely to think of a work-around if one is needed. Good luck.

I wouldn't mention it until offer stage buy maybe it's different with school roles.

ifiwasabutterfly · 23/10/2018 11:06

I would wait until you have an offer.

I am sure they will honour it as pre booked but working in a school means you can't have any time off in term time.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am worried as it's working in a school (so I guess they don't like it when staff are off during term time) but this holiday has been booked for months and is a one off and I'm guessing if I tell them at the end of the interview it's up to them to decide.. just hope it doesn't reduce my chances as I really really want this job Sad

Difficult decision. Do what you feel right. Don’t jeopardise your well deserved holiday by following my above advice if that’s not right for you ! Good lucky

Normally they will ask if you have any holidays booked. If they don't i wouldn't mention it until job offer is confirmed. Yheir mistake for not asking

JustEnoughEducationToPerform · 24/10/2018 14:38

Hi Ladies,
Just to let you know I had the interview this morning. They didn't ask about holidays so I told them...an hour later they phoned to offer me the job Grin
