A quick bit of background. I worked as a freelance magazine writer for 10 years (business tech for trade magazines). Then did some business writing work (video scripts and marketing communications) and for the past year, I've been writing content marketing material.
This was OK at first, but I'm now finding agencies want subject matter experts or influencers and I'm only getting offered low pay and low pay work that I ghostwrite for someone else.
I'm thinking of going back to trade mags, but I've no idea what the market is like and all the writers I know write for the consumer mags.
Equally, I'm open to any ideas for what I could do. I've done some training scripts, which I enjoyed doing, but I've no idea if that's a viable market.
