Civil Service - DWP Interview

I may potentially have an interview coming up with the civil service within the DWP and i'm trying to come up with answers for the 2 other competencies that i might be asked on. These are 'making effective desicions' and 'collaborating and partnering'.

I've got a few situations in my mind that i could use from previous jobs but the dificulty is trying to fit these answers around their framework and how relevant my answers are.

For the making effective decisions one i have one along the lines of recognising that the way work was allocated across the team wasn't fair or equal leaving others with substantially more work than others, advising the team leader of this and taking suggestions on board from the rest of the team as to how this can be improved. Weighing up pros and cons of what was suggested and putting forward what i felt was the best solution to the team leader.

I'm struggling a bit with the collaborating and partnering, nearly every job i've had i've worked as part of a team sometimes small and sometimes larger also built good professional relationships with external clients/contractors etc

Any advice would be great!

No my scores are on sift which is confusing as I already had scores on there. There is nothing on feedback.

Just checked this morning my status has changed to application being reviewed with a good interview overall feedback so I am hoping I have passed

2BorNot2Bvocal · 02/11/2018 09:52

Fingers crossed for you !

lmcintyre8676 I used the same examples that I included in the application. I just made sure I covered as many points as possible from the framework, as my sifting scores were not maximum so concluded things were missing. You say you may potentially have an interview so you should have your sift scoring on your profile already?

radioband thanks, I guess it's one of two possibilities:
1.original posts already filled and me put on a reserve list for future
2.no one put in the posts yes as they are still working out who to put where.
If nothing changes till the end of this week I'll simply email them asking what the situation is...

hollytom sems that your profile is being updated with a bit of delay. Hopefully you'll get a notification soon about being successful...
Which department did you apply for if I may ask? Was it a bulk recruitment? Mine was bulk and it is for MoD.

hollytom · 05/11/2018 12:54

Hi yes progress here I applied for DWP bulk recruitment. Now had an email saying I’m successful. It says I am placed on a reserve list but this is only a short term measure. I just want to more!

Well done hollytom, congratulations:)

Jajoanna · 05/11/2018 14:07

hollytom at your application centre profile, have you got your interview feedback under Selection exercise 1, and Selection exercise 2&3 being:
"Your application is awaiting review."?

hollytom · 05/11/2018 16:18

Thank you. Yes it says application under review under one of the feedback headings

ScabbyBabby · 10/11/2018 08:41

Well done Jajoanna! I know a few people who were on reserve first and then were offered a position later on, the process always seems to be lengthy though from what I've read on other forums. I'm still waiting for a start date. I think all we can do is be patient.

Well done to you too Hollytom!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I got a provisional job offer, and I am obviously very happy:)

I had sent an email asking what the situation was, and had a response that everyone was on reserve list and allocation of roles was still in progress. Few days later I had email through with job offer and DBS docs to fill in.
xx
