He has the biggest job interview of his life today - would mean a good salary increase and great prospects for the future so please keep your fingers crossed for him!

Thanks

and thanks to all those who offered advice and best wishes on my thread yesterday!

expatinscotland · 01/06/2007 10:43

Positive vibes for him, schneebly!

schneebly · 01/06/2007 10:44

thanks expat! Would be less of an upheaval than Ireland!

he just called me - he has walked the course and likes it a lot and he is going to the driving range to hit a few balls and release the tension for an hour!

TBH, though, I'd move to Ireland over St. A's in a second!

That's just me, though!

Hope he gets the job!

schneebly · 01/06/2007 12:14

Ireland would have been nice and I hear St Andrews is a bit stuck up but the job would be worth it!

schneebly · 01/06/2007 12:14

I also have a lot of friends near there and would be close to my college!

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 01/06/2007 12:19

And there are also some nice villages around there if the job doesn't come with tied accommodation .

schneebly · 01/06/2007 12:20

it doesn't and I think we would have to stay in a village going by property prices in St Andrews! More used to village life ayway

pointydog · 01/06/2007 12:20

Good luck - lots of places in Fife cheaper than St Andrews. Don't panic!

schneebly · 01/06/2007 12:21

thanks pointydog and expat!

Wow what an opportunity! Good luck schneebly's dh xx

expatinscotland · 01/06/2007 12:25

St. A's is as dear as Edinburgh.

But the villages are nice and more local in flavour, too.

schneebly · 01/06/2007 12:50

agree expat!

Thanks wallace!

His interview is at 1 o'clock so he will just be waiting to go in now!

DH just off the phone. I could kill him - he said it went really badly and he was tested on types of grass which he didnt know. He was lying!! In truth he thinks it went very well and one of the panel is now taking him out to show him the new golf course which is being built. Sound promising?

OP posts:
schneebly · 01/06/2007 15:04
