As for the wage drop will you be able to recoup in childcare fees considering less travel etc???

Won't you have to tell him/her something if you need time off on Thursday.

If you're actively looking for a job and don't want to tell your manager, then tell him/her that you've only applied for this one job because of its lack of travelling.

No ideas on how to research something when you have no time - except to burn the midnight oil and sleep on the train.
