I am 24 weeks pregnant. And I am due to go on Maternity on 29th Jul, I have been suspended on full pay from work pending and investigation for something I haven't done. I haven't been accused of gross misconduct just said some tickets have gone through at separate times of day and don't match etc so looks suspicious basically although there are always issues with our till. No money has gone missing. I am worried and confused need some advice please I haven't done anything wrong. I am due to start holiday in 2 weeks following on with my maternity then to start straight from that. I have already qualified for the rate of SMP but worried what If i get dismissed what happens? Do I still get the full rate for a month, then half then statutory maternity pay? Or do I loose it and have to go through the government for allowance? Need some advice. Half debating to get signed off being un-fit for work so I get suspended on full pay until maternity! Please mums help me I am a first time Mum and worrying.

Thanks in advance x

I would highly suggest joining a union @op, is this something you could look into?

Union if you have one. Acas if you don’t.
It’s hard to offer any more advice without knowing the detail of your role/investigation.

Sounds to fishy to me. As my qualifying week is in a week. Makes me feel like they are trying to out me instead

I wouldn't worry, it sounds like an irregularity they need to investigate, of nothing remiss then they won't find anything, and it will be back to normal.
