hi..
just wondering if anyone could offer me some advice
i worked as a care assistant and not long started 3 months ago, found out i was pregnant 8 weeks ago, i havent been able to go into work as i was admitted with hypermesis 2 times, each time i have had a sick note to myself, as im on probation i had a phone call from my manager today saying that she had residents what needed looking after and she needs to know what im doing ( as off now i was on the sick) told me that she couldent give me a lot of day shifts because there want that many going ( i used to work nights) she told me i would get a letter of my manager about my probation period and to me that didnt sound good at all - so me being hormonal has basically handed my notice in because i knew that they was trying to make it awkward for me. im now with no job. my other half works full time so im wondering if there is any benefits i could be entilited to ( i do know its going to be hard as ive handed my notice in) im going to my local citizins advice tomorrow

any advice would be appreciated

( we do live together )

I believe if you give up a job it's 6 months before you can get Jobseeker's Allowance.

Congratulations on your pregnancy

I’m not sure you’ll get much as you’ve basically quit your job.

I’m sorry you’ve been so sick but I am sure you understand that maintaining staffing levels in a care Home is really really important, it’s not unreasonable for your manager to try and find out if you’ll be in, it doesn’t mean she was making it awkward for you.

you should be entitled to contributions based jsa if you've paid enough national insurance contributions. Go online and start the claim asap. Hope you get it sorted out quickly x
