I returned to work from maternity leave and on a second day my new supervisor, male, gave me a pregnancy health assesment? He never gave one of these to anyone, he admitted it. He clearly did not know what he was doing. He told me to go through the check list on the form and talk to him about it. I told him that the check list is for him to discuss with me. The form said it was for expectant mothers and new mothers with babies under 6 months. My daughter is 1 year old.

It was uncomfortable to me and I kept saying that things being mentioned is no longer relevant.

Is this a standard thing to do?

I've never had a risk assessment carried out following maternity leave. That said, an incompetent H&S person tried to get me to discuss my pregnancy with him so he could write my risk assessment, 30 mins before I left for my maternity leave. I just laughed and asked where he had been for the last 8 months.

Sounds like he’s got something mixed up. Presumably you need to be doing a DSE assessment instead, on account of being out of the workplace for x months and now returning to a desk/DSE. I know my workplace says it needs to be done if you have a certain amount of time out of the office, or when moving to a new workstation.

What did he say when you pointed out that you are neither pregnant, nor with a child under 6m? Did the assessment identify any actions to follow up?

Sounds a bit odd.... they haven't got you confused with someone else who is pregnant!?!
