Ages ago I read a thread about someone who wanted to know if you're still considered employed if you are serving out your notice during your qualifying week. A friend of mine is trying for a baby, and is also seeking voluntary redundancy. We were talking about the benefits she would get, her employer has said if she gets redundo, she can work until March '08. If she got pg in the next few months, it's likely her qualifying week would fall during this period. I'm sure someone posted about a similar situation but I can't seem to find it. Anyone else able to or does anyone have any hot advice I can give her? Ta girls xxx

Don't know if this is too late for you ... but my QW was during my redundancy period and my employers had to pay me maternity pay. Brilliant.

You are still employed whilst working your notice, so any benefits which might apply if you are employed would still be applicable during your notice period.
