Hello lovely ladies

Looking for a 'work from home' job that can be done a few hours a day to begin with but possibly working up to full time if it suited me.

It's been difficult looking for something as so many sites I've come across are 100% fake.

Maybe Virtual Assistant, moderator, Audio Transcriber?

Please let me know of anything that you may come across.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

What skills do you have? Most successful freelancers are doing something they already enjoy and are good at. There's lots if options but will depend on your skillset

I’m a school fundraiser, basically I shop around to find the best deals for PTA’s. A lot of schools don’t have enough volunteers so I do it for them. It works, they raise more than usual & I get a % from the supplier. It fits in well with having kids & is going so well that I’m training up other freelancers. I recommend it.

When my children were young I had a job as clerk to the parish council, not a religious parish council but a level of local government. I got decent money and had to attend one meeting per month in the evening, I then did the minutes, circulated the minutes, kept the parish accounts, put notices up, organised letting of allotments and collecting rents. I was offered the job at a neighbouring parish so could have increased my hours but by then I was looking at going back to an office based job. I had also considered being clerk to governors at local school. I could easily have made it a fulltime job.

The downsides - well councillors sometimes thought I worked 24/7, bit lonely as I liked the banter in an office. You need a phone, computer, printer and most of all space for the paperwork.

I used to work for this company www.ariseworkfromhome.co.uk/ 100% home-based call centre work for well-known companies like Apple, NPower etc. I made fairly decent money, however, it’s not perfect. You are classed as self-employed so you get no holiday or sick pay, you pay for your own training (£10-£60 but sometimes free when companies are looking to recruit urgently), you provide your own equipment which has to fulfil their specs and getting the hours you want can be a bit of a struggle at times. You also have to do your own tax and NI.

On the upside I managed to work between 15-30 hours per week which I fit around home educating my daughter, the pay started off on minimum wage but increased quite quickly after consistently good call evaluations and the obvious perks of having my own bathroom, kitchen and sofa on hand. I left due to personal circumstances but would consider re-joining.

I’m also considering applying to this company www.sensee.co.uk/index.htm From what I hear they are harder to get positions with but you are employed rather than self-employed.

I've always worked from home and love it! There are scams out there but there are also a lot of great opportunities. Just make sure you do your homework and check your figures before committing to anything. I'm with Creative Puddles selling & promoting fun bracelets x
