Does anyone know about the law surrounding unpaid breaks?

My cousin is working in a cafe where only two people work at any one time. The main part of her job is the cooking but will serve customers as well as for portions of the day when the cafe is quiet she will run the place alone.
I was speaking to her today about her salary and she said they deduct an hour a day as unpaid lunch break.
During her workday it’s impossible to take an hours break or the equivalent (4x 15 min breaks) and is not allowed to leave the premises during her 7-8 hour shift.
It’s possible for her to make a sandwich and grab 10 mins to eat it but if a customer comes in they obviously take priority.
It doesn’t sound fair to me to but what does the law say?
