Advice needed - Applying for jobs whilst pregnant

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate your opinions please?

Due to unforeseen circumstances I have just been made redundant, at 5 weeks pregnant.

I am currently applying for new jobs but would appreciate your thoughts on when /how /if to tell recruiters or the companies I am applying to that I am pregnant.

(I haven't even told my family yet as it is FAR to early)

I expect to take 3-6months mat leave.

Anyway, your thoughts please 🙌

You tell them after you have started. No need to mention it before. It might prompt subconsious bias.

How much leave you plan to take is irrelevant

@Sofabitch great thank you 👍🏻

Don't tell them. You don't legally need to until 25 weeks, so you are a good while off. I wish I had taken my own advice in a recent situation that is now causing me untold grief.

This happened to me, although I probably fell pregnant just after being made redundant. Applied for a new job just after getting a positive, and then told them (much) later. Good luck! You don't have to tell until a certain time (and sad as it is, things can change too...)
It worked out really well for me. I worked for 7 or so months, took leave for 6 or 7 and then came back and I'm still there years later.
