Advice needed - Applying for jobs whilst pregnant

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate your opinions please?

Due to unforeseen circumstances I have just been made redundant, at 5 weeks pregnant.

I am currently applying for new jobs but would appreciate your thoughts on when /how /if to tell recruiters or the companies I am applying to that I am pregnant.

(I haven't even told my family yet as it is FAR to early)

I expect to take 3-6months mat leave.

Anyway, your thoughts please 🙌

You tell them after you have started. No need to mention it before. It might prompt subconsious bias.

How much leave you plan to take is irrelevant

Don't tell them. You don't legally need to until 25 weeks, so you are a good while off. I wish I had taken my own advice in a recent situation that is now causing me untold grief.

This happened to me, although I probably fell pregnant just after being made redundant. Applied for a new job just after getting a positive, and then told them (much) later. Good luck! You don't have to tell until a certain time (and sad as it is, things can change too...)
It worked out really well for me. I worked for 7 or so months, took leave for 6 or 7 and then came back and I'm still there years later.
