does your contract state your day rate (and thus your pay changes each month depending on number of days in the month) or is your day rate extrapolated to an annual salary?

In my experience/industry, a day rate is a day rate is a day rate i.e. your monthly pay will vary depending on how many days you work each month.

The day rate so £800 per day or whatever and you're only paid for days worked
