People who work for the NHS and get unsocial hours enhancements- i have a question

If you have rota'ed hours, and say you worked one day shift, a Sunday shift, and a night shift every week- would you get your unsocial enhancements whilst on annual leave for a few weeks?

Hope that makes sense.

"Paragraph 13.9 on pay during annual leave in the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service handbook says:

“pay during annual leave will include regularly paid supplements, including any recruitment and retention premia, payments for work outside normal hours and high cost area supplements. Pay is calculated on the basis of what the individual would have received had he/she been at work. This would be based on the previous three months at work or any other reference period that may be locally agreed.” NHS Employers

I'm pretty sure we don't get enhancements on annual leave. My pay is always lower if I've had a weeks leave.

Yeah I'm confused cos "Pay is calculated on the basis of what the individual would have received had he/she been at work" seems to imply you should get the enhancement. Confused

Every few months you will get a payment that says WTD. I think, that this covers the enhancements you would have got if you had worked your usual hours.

Yes you get some.

They look at a period preceding your annual leave and work out what your average unsocial for a week over that period was and then pay that figure when you're on leave.

Csnt remember if it's the average for the month before your leave, I think so.

Ahh, so I've just read about the WTD and it all makes sense. So babyroobs is right, I think, that you don't get extra pay when you take annual leave, but you do get WTD pay when you work, which is an extra 12.5% of your enhancements and covers the cash value of the annual leave that you should get for working those hours, so that when you take leave you've been compensated in advance.
