NHS have massively underpaid me!

Just received my payslip for this month and its massively short.

I have been paid band 4 instead of band 5.

I have been taxed at BR.

They have taken 9.3% for NHS pension instead of 5.6% based on band 4.

My student loan is 3 X the amount l would expect for band 4 pay so assuming they have deducted plan 1 rate instead of plan 2.

Where on earth do I start to get this sorted out?!?! I rang both HR and NHS payroll, both are saying I have to wait for the extra money until October. I understand nothing can be done about the tax or the student loan but surely they need to sort out the pension contribution and the massive underpayment due to being paid the wrong band? They owe me about £507, not including the student loan or pension issue

I would keep hassling payroll. I once stupidly got a number wrong in my account details when starting a new post so didn't get paid. They wrote me a check even though it was entirely my own fault. I don't think they can do much about the tax, but the difference in banding could be given to you.

Go back to your trust payroll and request a CHAPS payment, they can do this or at least our trust did this when pay went wrong

If they've underpaid your because they have processed it incorrectly then they'd probably wait until next month to correct and you'll get back pay. I'd be calling for an explanation as to why this happened however, and if you depend on that money this month then by all means let them know you'll b facing hardship without it. There are ways to make an additional payment but they usually require good reasoning for it.
