what like jobseekers signing on? Are you a SAHM? if so - just by getting Child benefit you get home responsiblilities protection - no need to keep going to Jobcentre - unless you like it?!

Biglips · 25/01/2007 16:14

yes i do sign on for jobseeker allowance contribution and yes i do get child benefit and HRP...i spoken to the senior staff at the jobcentre and he said that YES i do have to carry on signing on....ive had other staff told me that i dont have to come in to sign on cos ive got a child!!

so im confused....is signing on also helps with the child benefit or WTC??? or am i talking rubbish??

I got Icome support, tax credits and childbenefit when I was out of work - was still able to look for work - and actually got a back to work grant when I got a job last month. Only had to go to Jobcentre every six months to see if they could help me - didn't sign on

oh - they gave me the choice - sign on for Jobseekers or Icome support

Biglips · 25/01/2007 19:41

i had no choice from jobcentre as my partner was working more than 25 hours a week so just signed on for jsa contribution based and seeking for work which ive decided a few weeks ago that im not going back to work

ah ha - single mum here - different kettle of fish altoghether. Would have thought then that you just stop claiming JSA and get pension credits from CB.
