Backstory: I'm a solicitor. I left my previous job early last year to come to my current role at a smaller firm with better pay. I desperately needed to leave my old job (it was leave permanently or go to HR and tell them I needed at least 6 months away - I was getting pretty down).
New job went well for a while, but over time the cases have dried up and there's little to no sign of anything new arriving. I've touted round the office to see if I can help anyone, but there's not much available (though I pick up the odd scrap here and there). The partners I work for are appalling at workload management, and frankly I think they are hoping I decide to leave - possibly because when they hired me they were planning to pick up work in the areas that I specialize in, and have now changed their minds.
So the position now is that despite receiving a great salary, I have barely anything to do, am not really needed, and am once again sinking into depression. And to top it off, I can't leave right now, as I'm 4 months pregnant.
All in I very much need a new job and need to start putting plans in place. My ideal job would be one where I analyze data and prepare reports/reach conclusions, as that's something I really like doing and I'm good at it. Also, I'm sick of being a 'fee earner' - I'd prefer a job where I don't have to account for every 6 minutes of my day.
Anyone got any suggestions for firms to look at/roles/job titles in adverts to keep an eye out for?
