Hiya! Well, I've handed in my notice and decided to focus on writing and freelancing, thanks for all your advice! It feels like the right decision and am very excited.

But now onto the practical stuff. What do you guys do about saving for retirement etc plus insurance for things like long-term illness?

I have a stakeholder pension with Avia & critical illness cover. I think it is important to have those if you can.

I did not start a pension till I turned 50
and my only insurance is my PII
