No reply after asking to rearrange the interview, do I follow up? Please help!

I'm going back to work after having my two boys and have found the perfect job which I am really keen on. I sent my CV last Monday and on Wednesday they replied that they could interview me the following Thursday (the 15th). I thanked them for the offer to interview but stated that I had a hospital appointment on that day which could not really be moved, and was there a possibility of changing the interview?

Anyway, I have yet to receive a reply. I don't want to appear too needy, but as stated I am really keen on the job. It is a small company and they are still taking applications for the job, and numerous others (according to their website), so I can't see changing the interview being that much of an issue.

My question is, do I send a follow up email chasing the interview, and if so what do I say?

Thanks

It wouldn't do any harm to chase it! Why not.

I would chase it but don't suggest to them that changing the interview date won't be a big deal. If they are getting a certain group of persons together to interview for that job, they may need to rearrange several diaries. I know of many companies who won't interview on other days for that reason.

I'd phone them now rather than send a second email.

Thanks all, I don't have a contact number for them so will have to email.

if you've researched the company it should be possible to find a phone number, even if you have to go through the switchboard instead of DDI. Phone call definitely the best option in this case. It may be that the email you sent requesting a change hasn't even been spotted; it may just have been filed along with all the other 'yes I'll be there' messages from other candidates.
