Hello ive worked in my job for a year i was promoted above my experience and ability. I was off for six weeks in April because i cant cope. My boss is lovely but her patience must be wearing thin. I was late on Friday because i couldnt stop crying before work and i cant tell anyone. Ive applied for other jobs but its a two month notice period and i cant wait. Ive stayed in cancelled all plans and cried all weekend Hmm

Thanks it will but will mean moving from permanent to temporary. Might be better than being out of work though.

Think about all the pros and cons of the options, maybe leave making a decision until the end of next week, certainly wait until after the weekend.

Although moving onto a temporary contract is risky, it may be the best option in your circumstances, but make sure you try and get the best possible deal, and if possible ensure that although it is a temporary contract the terms are clear to you particularly the length of the contract. In the meantime start actively looking elsewhere and apply for the job mentioned to your DH.

Faye, does your company offer any kind of employee counselling? I would ask your manager or HR about accessing it if so - being able to talk to someone objective really helped me order my thoughts and decide on the best solution instead of being stuck down in the desperate depths of anxiety when I was going through work stress. Anti anxiety meds from my GP also helped, but the counsellor helped me see my stress and anxiety were about my situation, not about my worth as a person. It's easy to lose sight of that when you feel so awful, and to blame yourself only adds to the misery.

Good luck with whatever you decide and finding help to get you through this. You will make the best decision for you, I know, and in six months time whatever you decide things will be better.

Don't worry about the notice period. They won't hold you to it.
