Once I have got my mat b1 do I just write a letter to my employer saying the date I want to start mat leave? I have hols booked in Aug. Oct n Feb 16th (three weeks) can I put in the letter that I intend to finish on such a date and use these holidays before starting my six weeks maternity leave earning 90% of earnings?

you dont need your matb1 to inform your employer of your maternity start date as you can hand in your mayb1 at a later date. You need to inform them at least 15 weeks before the due date that you wish to start your leave on a particular date and when your baby is due.

Yes you can. You're entitled to your holiday so if you won't be back a t work before the end of the holiday year you take if before you go off.

I've sent my employer an email saying when I want my maternity pay to start and the holiday I intend to take beforehand. I've said that I'm open to discussion but they've accepted it. The holiday I'm taking includes the bank holidays remaining in the year ie Christmas Day and Boxing Day as these are part of your entitlement and you will only be getting maternity pay for them.

Check your annual entitlement and if it doesn't include bank holidays add the ones that occur during mat leave back on
