does anyone work for DICT8 or any other transcription company

I'm a medical Secretary with 8 years experience. The joy has gone out of my job. So I'm considering applying for a digital medical transcription job. Can anyone tell me more?

Hi Flapptery. I've typed for Dict8 for 4 years now and it works really well for me. The rate of pay is decent and they pay quickly, plus you don't need any special equipment.

When I first started the work could be a bit thin on the ground at times, but they seem to be taking on new Trusts all the time and there is now plenty of work, although I guess that depends on your speciality.

I'm going to hand in my notice at work and be a sahm, financially this is doable without me working but I like earning money and want to keep my typing skills so I thought this would be a good way to do it.

My speciality is ENT and I can type max fax too, I'm not sure how 'popular' this is.

You mentioned that I dint need any equipment but if I wanted to would it be possible to use a footpedal as I can't imagine typing without one?

Yes you can use a pedal and Dict8 advise on what ones are most compatible. I use the keyboard controls and it's just second nature now. It's a really user friendly system.

Good luck with your new SAHM life. I love being around for DS, and earning money is the icing on the cake.

i earned some good money from them, but it did stress me out and as I have other work i seemed to becoming a workaholic. watching the pennies!
more and more letters. desperate for more! And it gave me tennis elbow as my work surface wasnt ideal!

Thumbcat just wondered how many hours work per week you do for Dict8 and Flapperty Flippers how did you get on working for them? Thanks.

Thumbcat - I'm thinking of working with dict8, doing perhaps a couple of hours every evening monday to friday, how much roughly do you think I could earn minimum ..... need to earn some extra cash, ???? x
