Hi,

Ive worked as a nanny/childminder/babysitter for the last 13 years. I picked up a common assault charge last year(for throwing water at a housemate who had threw a cup at me). I got my DBS check back during the week and it has shown up as cautioned for common assault-should I tell all the parents that im working at? and the agencies that im registered with? Will I get work again? As a parent, would you consider me as an employee??

If you were otherwise trustworthy I wouldn't care about a caution for throwing water. But that's me.

My caution sheet states that I assaulted X person..I will call into the police station tomorrow and see if they can give me something to say it in more detail...its ironic that it was my honesty that got me this caution..the other girl just said she threw the cup downstairs thus not admitting she threw it at me...!

Thanks iougle.. I do some babysitting for families in hotels who are visiting London and this is all through word of mouth so its gonna be difficult telling everyone and having to explain but I guess its just having to accept the consequences of one mistake is difficult :-(
