Can I hand in my notice on sick leave.

i was meant to do it last week but have had an injury and been signed off for two months. It will be tough to leave without not going back to the place I have worked for 11 years but I was wondering if I can resign and do my notice while off?

Yes, absolutely.

You can, it might be better to do so sooner than later from the employers pov so they can recruit a replacement but you may need the sick pay in the meantime and could forfeit it.

The money would be handy, of course.
