Try and make it brief, thanks for helping.
Prior to going on adoption leave I worked a roster in a team of 4 where we worked 2 weekends each of 8 hour shifts. On coming back they have decided to bring in a new roster that put only me and the other part timer on 3 out of 4 weekends working 12 hour shifts. The full time staff get 9 in 12 weekends off where us 2 part timers her 3 in 12 off.
They have also scheduled full time on staff that work towards promotion where as part time staff have not been rostered any these shifts.
It has been handled very badly and they have actually kept my maternity cover on full time and though we have more staff now the part timers have been rostered a much higher proportion of the anti social shifts.
There was meetings held with full time staff that part timers were not included in although we all work the same job and are paid the same pro rata.
My job share and I have a flexible working agreement that we have the same set 2 days off in the week but cover eachother and this has been in place 5 years. They held this over our heads basically saying well you are keeping that agreement so basically can't complain about the weekend situation.
All we feel is that there is more than enough staff to create a roster that gives everyone a share of the antisocial hours. I only work 24hrs per week. The roster change was down to business demands and to give staff a better work life balance however only the part time staff have now a worse work like balance.
Any thoughts on how I proceed? I have told them I am not happy with the allocation of weekends but have been told tough basically that's the roster.
