How to find a babysitter (Swansea)???

I live in west Swansea and am desperate to find a babysitter. Local enquiries (at the surgery, neighbours) have not got me anywhere and Sitters doesn't cover our area. Anyone know any other way to find babysitters, or anyone in our area wanting to swap watching kids?

There is an agency called Lloyds based in Newport that definitely covers as far up as cardiff and I think goes further. The number is: 0800 6522620 if you want to try. They may be able to recommend another agency if they don't go this far themselves. We've used them and been bery pleased.

Also consider contacting the Marriott and seeing if they offer baby-sitting, if they do it'll probably be through an agency.

try a local nursery. often lots of the girls want extra babysitting and benefit is that they are experienced.

Hi,

don't know about your specific area but some Further Education Colleges and/or Councils run 1 or 2 day courses in basic childcare stuff like first aid, aimed at teenagers who want to do baby-sitting. I've a feeling that you might be able to get a list of people who've completed the course. Alternatively you could put an add up somewhere - local post office, college, doctors etc - though obviously this means you'd get a stranger and you'd need to check out references
