I am stuck for a job reference and have been asked to write my own reference

Within the terms of hopefully our final meeting (probably not) to settle financial matters with my expartner who was also my employer I have been asked to write my own reference.

I need to find some example references, because I am not a native English speaker and it should not look like it was written by me.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions received.

The reference I require is for a senior sales and marketing role as a company consultant.

I don't understand why you are expected, or indeed why it is considered at all appropriate, for you to write your own reference? Who has suggested this?

Do you mean that you need to be provided with a reference with a form of words which has been agreed by you? In which case, surely your ex-partner/employer should write the reference and have it agreed by you (or your solicitor if you have legal assistance).

He cannot be arsed to write a reference and therefore I have to write the reference I want.
