Writing about yourself as introduction to project service users- my brain has stopped working!

Hoping to get back to full time work and it can't happen in my current role so I have applied and have an interview for a new project (care sector). Part of the process is a service visit to the project where I will meet staff and service users. I have a huge big blank piece of paper that I have to fill about myself so the residents can read about me before I go.

I have no idea where to start!! Everytime I start I think why the hell eould thry want to know that. I'm well educated, professional but I can't even write a paragraph about myself. Dear god someone please help me or slap me or something!

Whats exact remit?
Is it your role rather than actually you they want to know about?

Its very vague and its deliberately so I think! Just says ' this info will be shared with service users on your visit, any other information you wish to share ( eg hobbies or interests)'
I have started off with basic who I am, where I grew up, why I choose my career, things I do outside of work. I'm trying to put across my sense of humour but its not working and i have no clue if what I've included is even relevant. Oh dear!

I would write something along these lines. Feel free to use it and amend as necessary.

My name is Green Cabbage and I am an Occupational Therapist here at Occupational Therapy Ltd. I have been an Occupational Therapist for 5 years, first for OcTher London for 3 years and here for the last two.

I was born and grew up in West London, and did my degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of London between 2006 and 2009. I specialise in Occupational Therapy for children. I really enjoy working with children and seeing them learn new skills.

I am married to Jo Bloggs, who is a Greengrocer. We have two children called Poppy and Sam, and a dog called Rusty.

I like riding my bike with my husband and children when it's sunny, and baking cake when it's not. I also like running and doing salsa dancing. My favourite food is Brussel sprouts, and my least favourite food is chocolate.

I look forward to meeting everyone, staff and service users, at Occupational Therapy Ltd.

Green Cabbage.

Can you re-orientate it from their pov? What would they need/want to know, what relevant?
Eg i don't know the service, but in generic terms, wd want to know:

  1. you're good at what you do - so your skills, experience
  2. Why you want to work in this service
  3. That you're a kind/empathic/rounded human being so yes, hobbies, interests
