when can I call to find out if I got the job?

I had an interview monday, a week ago. They said they would "probably decide by the end of the week". personally I think that's a long time anyway and I think this organization would usually be quicker than that. I'm beginning to wonder if its no and they're being too bluddy rude to let me know. when do you reckon it's ok for me to call them? for one thing,if it is no, I'd quite like some feedback

Hi, I'm an HR Officer Mumsnetter. I'd say as you've given it a clear working day from when they'd said they were likely to let you know it's perfectly reasonable to ring them tomorrow to see if they've made a decision. If they are not keen to offer feedback and i'ts a 'no' (although I hope not), I'd suggest a short letter thanking them for the interview and requesting feedback to help you with future job applications. That way it stresses you are asking for positive reasons rather than to challenge them (but that's not to suggest that you shouldn't depending on what they say!)

This time of year a lot of managers are on holiday so an organisation can appear very inefficient when it's not really!

Do call them and ask if they've made a decision. It may just be that one particular person is away so there's been a hold-up.
