Buying charity shops unsold stock

I'm very much at the beginning stages of pondering this idea. I'm wondering if there might be money to be made buying leftover stock and sorting it, recycling any metals, selling anything that will sell on ebay and then selling leftover scrap fabric.
Does anyone have any experience of this or have any advice in general?
Thank you.

To be honest I can't see the market....if it's not sold it's not sold for a reason....

I think you'll find that they already do this - sell unuseable clothes as rags etc.

I'd agree with AwfulMaureen though - having seen what does sell in some charity shops, what doesn't sell would be the real dross.

im not sure if this would work long term but i often buy things from charity shops, give them a good wash and iron and list them on ebay, i always make more than what i paid, however i dont think this will bring the income your looking for?
