working at home with children in holidays

Just wondering at what age you have been able to work at home and look after the dc? My work is v flexible and not paid by hour but by work completed - but still needs to be completed to a deadline. Just wondering at what age you were able to say leave the children to occupy themselves fairly reliably while you work on computer in fairly intellectually demanding way for a few hours. Trying to decide whether to start claiming for childcare vouchers while we still can - as will be ineligible under new scheme. 3 children, two girls then a boy, 4.5 years between them.

My DC are 7 and 9 and DH sometimes works at home.
But.
I go in to my work early so I can get home early (so effectively makes it a shorter day).
DH starts late (so spends time with them early on) and then does "something" with them early afternoon for a couple of hours. He then finishes his work when I get home.

They wouldn't manage the whole day with no adult intervention.
I think 1 on their own would get bored very easily.
And we only do it very occasionally.
IT's not ideal for DH as it makes his work day hard to organise - he tends to lose his train of thought.

Thank you, it probably wouldn't be every holiday - mainly feb half term and Easter. I would probably do 2hrs then have a break and do some more in the evening.

I do this. Mine are 7 and 12 and they're fine for two hours. Any longer and we get "he's in my room / making a noise / eating my snack" or "she's touching my stuff / won't play the game I want to play / won't give me a sweet".

I tend to work two hours in the morning and then an hour in the evening. DH takes them out do I can work on Saturday morning.
