Personal reading, local community voluntary work, following politicians on social media - but what else?!

What kind of organisation is it, ie - local or regional or national? Your answer should reflect that. Maybe focus on its specific field as well.

Good luck.

Dependkng on tbe job I suspect thay is one they will test mainly at interview. Not to say dont memtion it but surely its one that needs discussion

I'd say the 'personal reading' should reference specific publications like elephantseye says also focus on the specific field (and nothing you can't answer questions on!)

It's a job with the Govt here, so no specific field which makes it harder to answer on the app form

Are you sure that competency is one which is being tested by the application form? I would have thought that they'd usually test that in interview, not on the application form. The application bumf might say which of the competencies they want you to address on the form and which in the interview, if you get one.

Yep - I have the application form in front of me. I completely agree - I think it's an odd question to be asked at this stage.

Do you mind saying roughly what the job is / what employer? My career has been working for (central) government and Parliament.

SirChenjin · 22/07/2013 09:04

I'd rather not say what the role is - sorry Smile. I like to be anonymous on here and because it's quite specialised it could be easy to work out who I was. Employer is Parliament.
