Really fed up with the lack of opportunities for a permanent full-time appointment in academia. Need to rethink/retrain. This is the situation:
- I have done nothing except university lecturing - and being a full time SAHM. I'm not sure I know the full range of possible - if any - jobs available in other working environments
- I have a good (ish) degree and PhD in English
- I am old (think 50
)
- I would like to earn £40k p.a.
- Am happy to spend a few years retraining but would like to fast-track as quickly as possible.
- Am better working as a team than in isolation
- Not especially numerate; am good at brainstorming.
...it's not looking promising really is it?
