Newish career in digital marketing

I've worked as a senior marketing manager for many years,now redundant. I've recognised i have a skills gap been wondering if I should up skill myself and go on a digital Marketing course with a view to freelance/going solo ? What do you think ? Apart from expensive CIM courses can you recommend any?am I best just freelancing?

I thinking of doing just this. I say go for it.

I saw a good course through Home Learning College, and they have some good offers on at the moment.

I think the future is certainly in the digital world (in business terms), and I think anyone with qualifications in this will always earn decent money.
