Best website to search for jobs

Anyone had any good experience with searching for jobs online?

Ive just had a look at the job centre website and it is rubbish now. Apparently 30 miles away from me is the towns that are 2 hours drive (on a motorway) away. I can see its been set up to check that those claiming JSA are actually looking, but as Im not that part doesn't really matter to me.

So what other job sites are there?

Ive heard of monster and had a look on Gumtree.

Is there anywhere Ive missed or anything else I can do? Or is it simply a case of there aren't any jobs out there?

Depends what type of thing you are looking for but here are some:

www.jobsite.co.uk
www.reed.co.uk
www.indeed.co.uk
www.jobserve.co.uk

Good luck!

Any magazines for your area? I'd always look at the New Scientist web site.

And the local paper, on jobs night, or the web site for the newspaper.

Also, if there is a (big) local company you'd like to work for, keep an eye on there website to see if anything is advertised there.

Good Luck

Word of mouth is best. Tell everyone you know that you're job hunting. Send out CVs to possible employers, hand deliver. Join LinkedIn.
