Applying for 2 jobs at the same company

Is it bad form? I've seen 2 possible roles, one of which is part time and the other full time. Both similar admin roles but not the same. I would prefer part time but have skills for the full time role too. Any words of wisdom?

And a silly question When applying by email - should I attach covet letter as a word document or write in the body of the mail (I haven't done this for a while!)

DH applied for 2 positions in the same company (on the same day as well :) ) and got interviews for both so when he got the second phone call he told them the situation. Both interviews went ahead and he's since found out the managers discussed it between themselves to decide where he was more suited to before offering him one of the jobs.

Personally would use the email for covering letter, and attach the cv as a document.
