tax credits for couple with one child

hi can anyone help me please i am stressed out worrying about money our tax credits have suddenly dropped by 50 a week i rang up n they said it was due to an increase in wages from last year when i was on maternity leave but i need to pay childcare bills etc n havnt got a clue how im gonna afford anthin now i could take my daughter out of nursery but theres no one to mind her i work 20 hours a week and my partner 40 our overall income for a year is about 21000 please has anyone got any advice? what would i get if i stopped working? x

I have been in a similar situation with tax credits, it's a pain that they base it on last years figures when things can change so easily.

My only suggestion is to go on the tax credits website and use the tax credits calculator and try a few different scenarios to work out how much you would get if you stopped working or reduced hours etc. The only problem is, as far as I'm aware, the changes wouldn't take place until next tax year...
