I have been a Sahm for 5 years and looking to return to work. I have lost my CV so am doing it from scratch. I honestly think my head is going to fall off. I feel so out of the work thing I can't even string a sentence together. My main problem is that I owned my own pub for 3 years before having the dcs and I can't think of the wording for the tasks and responsibilties without rambling.

Hi pud1, I'm in the same position as you right now (except I didn't run a pub) and am on Mumsnet having a break from completing 3 job applications.
I think running a pub would require 'excellent interpersonal skills with people at all levels', 'multi-tasking', 'liaising with suppliers', 'maintaining accounts', 'a good sense of humour and the ability to keep calm under pressure', 'keeping up to date on all the relevant legislation' .... (that's all my addled brain can think of for now but I hope it helps) - here's to new jobs Wine Grin

Hi, thanks that all sounds much better than the stuff I can come up with. I have given up for today. Am going to crack on with it tomorrow when oh is around to give me a hand. Good luck

do a google search for bar manager job description and you can copy some of the competencies. much less painful than doing from scratch.

Hi ive had the same feeling in the past too, hated doing my own CV until I asked a friend who gave me details of a web site which has helped me get a really great CV. I had to pay a fiver but it was really worth it. I got a lot of phone calls and interviews so I think it was great. The web site is www.epcotcs.com if anyone wants to give it a go.
