Help - what to wear to a job interview (and where do I get it..)

Not the most appealing subject for this time of night I know - sorry.

I've got a job interview on Thursday, which will be the first time in, what, 15 years..? What do I wear? I suppose it's still all formal? Suit? Dark?
And where can I buy it...? I never never have worn anything formal in my life - well apart from the much-hated few suits I bought for business trips 20 years ago - and don't know where to start. It's pathetic, I know.

Is anyone in the mood to help..?

How old are you, and what would your budget be? Is it a job where you'd probably be dressed formally when you get it? Is your local weather forecast hot for Thursday? (it will be hot in London)
And lastly, have you considered reposting in Style And Beauty which is full of dedicated and helpful shoppers.

I personally would err towards either a suit or a dress, and probably start with a large branch of House of Fraser, they've got loads of decent dresses in the sale ATM.

Definitely a suit or formal dress. Even in workplaces where casual is the norm a suit is expected for interview. I found Next and big M&S's have good choice.

Good luck

Thanks for the help, much appreciated..! A suit it'll be then. No House of Fraser near where I am, but I'll try Next and M&S.

I got a lovely suit from Next several years ago and it's done me very well for interviews so far! Good luck!

Whats the job though? Suits are great but can be too formal. I usually go for black tailored trousers, smart shirt and jacket.
