What do I do? I make a high daily wage but due to some clients taking up to 6 weeks to pay me (of which they are one) I shop at aldi, I dont exactly splash the cash.

That said, I cant afford to lose a client. They are part of a group of 5 clients I see so I dont want the others to.

What do you all do? I assume I can claim it back? I'm thinking a bottle of champagne from Costco would go down well.

Aaarrrghhhh.

A bottle of champagne from Lidl - they are often on offer and the brands change so often you can pretend you had it in stock from your last trip to France.

OR - a voucher for your own time .... then its advertising
depends what you do of course

I feel your pain, these things are often awkward!

2 free hours of your services is the best as it gives a chance for a bit of promo too. However, if your services are unlikely to appeal to the general fete going public then a bottle of fizz sounds good.

Try to increase the "value" of your spend by creating a nice colour label on a tie (think local boutiquey homewear shop) - affixed at the back of the neck of the bottle, so it doesn't come off in transit!- which you can pop around the neck with "Fluffycloud's biz is delighted to support xxx summer fete. We wish everybody a fantastic day"
Fluffcloud and the team at xxx - delivering xx services. www.abc.co.uk.

Even if you deliver niche/business related services you never know who might spot your details.

You can always mention on your website/blog too. "Supporting the community" blah blah

Good luck.
