My role is being made redundant at work and consultation has started.
There is a role which I can be considered for but it is far more junior than my current position and increases my hours but decreases my pay and 'status'. I'll need to get more childcare so for the pay vs increased outgoings (plus job won't actually be different in practice an the team will be reduced so I reckon more stress....) so DH and I are think it will probably be a no...
So, I suspect I will have to work my notice to 'tidy' up....when would the notice period start ? end of consultation ?
If there is a role albeit more junior and worse pay etc (it's a third pay cut) ....can I refuse to take it and take redundancy money instead ? Do I have to take it if offered ?
