Ironing question (stay at home dad)

Hi there, my wife goes out to work and I stay at home. I've found that I quite enjoy ironing and would like to start an ironing service. I am thinking about collecting clothes from customers in the morning and returning them in the evening, but wondered whether a morning pick up would be popular? Do you think people would like their clothes picked up in the mornign (say 7am to 9am) and returned in the evening (same day) or do you think people prefer would prefer me to pick their clothes up in the evening? My wife thinks that a morning pick up would be very popular, but I just wanted to ask you guys. Thanks.

Great idea, but I despise wire hangers - they are so sharp and jaggy.

I'm not a great fan of polythene either.

Our local place charges £6.50 for 10 items, but you need to drop off / collect. I would love a collection service.

Am very Envy at those who get bag loads of stuff done for £7.50.

Just a thought, UKchap, what about bedding? Lots of people like their sheets and duvet covers etc ironed but they might not reach a 20-item minimum! A typical fortnightly bagful that I take to the ironing parlour would be 8-10 shirts plus king-size sheet, duvet cover and four pillowcases. They charge by weight and it's usually about 18 quid. They have a minimum weight (I think its about £7 for about 5-lb weight but am not sure.). You would still get a decent order from someone with fewer but larger items like bed and table linen, if you keep an open mind about yr minimum quantity and/or factor the big stuff into your pricing. Best of luck!
