Morning ladies

So that you know my situation I will lay it out first.

I had worked in a retail company as a store manager for 10 years,in total for 14 years as I had been an assistant manager before hand.In Feb I was made redundant I was 23 weeks pregnant.I have applied for jobs but to be honest they look at my bump and I can see the look in thier eyes and know Im not going to get anywere.

I have never been out of work before and I am really feeling it now.Everyone is telling me to put my feet up and enjoy my pregnancy.Im not a put my feet up kind of person.

I have thought about my future and I would like to go back into retail, but I also thought about other things I could do so I have some books on payroll that were recomended to me and have found a course I could pay to do while I take my maternity pay.

However...........this is my dilema.

A job has come up in a company I would love to work for as a manager.I dont know weather to apply for the postition, hope I get an interview then hope with all my heart they see I am a good manager and hold the postition open for me until feb.Do you think this is asking too much of a company?

should I apply or would I be wasteing my time?.

I would so love to know I had a job and security to go back too after my maternity time runs out.

tia.

I think you need to be realistic. If they are interviewing now they almost certainly want the job filled pretty soon. Do you really think they'll hold it for 9 months?

You could apply anyway, could be good practice maybe?

Thanks Ladies haveing thought about it,I think Im going to leave it.retail is all about lifestyle long hours, demanding,no christmas's and this is all going to change for me in a few weeks.I made a pros and cons list.

I once recruited someone (internal transfer) three weeks before she went on maternity leave. She was worth waiting for.

I think it is worth applying. Even if it doesn't come off this time, they may have something else open up in a few months and get back in contact with you.

And if you decide not to return to retail it's still nothing lost, nothing gained...
